CASS

The primary aim of this study was, among patients with acute ventilator-dependent respiratory failure and complete follow-up, to determine whether initial profound alveolar damage (high SPD) or damage to conductive airways (high CC16) was associated with ARDS and has a detectable clinical impact one month after intensive care admittance, i.e., failure to successfully wean the patient from mechanical ventilation.
